What will be covered?
The FHWA recently published the first update to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) in nearly 15 years. This federal document has a huge impact on the way streets in the U.S. are designed, and which solutions are implemented.
While the State of California issues its own CA MUTCD, it will be required to be in substantial conformance with the National MUTCD by January 2026. As such, transportation engineers in the state would be wise to get to know the new national guide, as many of the standards will eventually be adopted in California.
Join Jeremy Hancyk and Chris McLaughin to learn the key changes to the 11th Edition, with a focus on crosswalks, traffic calming, and school zones, including changes from CA MUTCD 2014 and potential conflicts with Caltrans specifications.
